HP Battery Check is an easy-to-use tool, which can be run in order to verify the functionality of the primary and secondary batteries installed in HP Notebooks. To run HP Battery Check, the AC adapter must be connected to the computer, and the battery must have at least a partial charge.

Hello, like most people I signed up today because I have a problem that I can not figure out how to fix on my HP laptop.
I bought my HP Pavilion dv6607nr almost two years ago this November and I love it. I think that I will be an HPer for life! It is running on a Windows Vista Home Premium system with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor TK-53. It also has 1.50 GB RAM of memory.
I just have one major problem with my HP right now, I can not update my PC Health Check program. I have tried to run the update and when I get to updating the HP Active Support Library I get the following error: 'Error 1720. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Custom action Hpproduct typeCA script error -2147319779, : Line2, Column 1' after I click ok, the following shows up 'Error: -1603 Fatal error during installation.
Consult WindowsInstaller Help (Msi.chm) or MSDN for more information.' Then it just rolls back to before the installation.
So I can never update the HP Health Check. I have searched and searched and searched for an answer and I still can not find the answer. If anyone can help, please let me know.

Why hasn't this been answered? I've been have the same problem with a tx2120us and Vista Ultimate. Here are the screen shots from my system:
It doesn't appear that screen shots can be included. First I get a 1720 error and then a 1603 error. I also can't get on HP Chat, doesn't work.

i am having this same exact problem. all i want to do is get the appropriate version of HP Support Assistant back and loaded onto my dv6915nr HP notebook. i have tried to reinstall this program a dozen times, it just about finishes downloading altogether and then at the end i get one of two errors or both: 1316.A or 1720. for a notebook that is only three years old i would hope there would be somebody that cares enough to reach out and help us. this is very frustrating and just reaffirms my feelings about HP and Microsoft products.
update: i don't know how i did it but i was able to download the latest version of SA eventually so no worries
